Marianne Williamson Becomes 13th Presidential Candidate to Endorse 51 for 51
Des Moines, IA — Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson agrees with 51 for 51, that bypassing the filibuster in order to make Washington, D.C. the 51st state is the right path to enfranchise the more than 700,000 tax-paying residents living in the nation’s capital.
51 for 51 is leading the national grassroots effort to get presidential candidates to endorse D.C. statehood moving forward with a simple majority vote in the senate.
Williamson spoke with young D.C. natives who have been traveling the country, urging candidates to not only voice their support for D.C. statehood, but to back a Senate rule change that would make statehood a reality.
